About

Lee Parnell

Sports Massage Therapy Haywards Heath

As a Sports Massage Therapist & Personal trainer, I’m interested in how people move, what restrictions they have, and how injuries occur. During treatment, my main aim is to promote quality movement of the muscles and joints.

I trained at the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) which is widely regarded as a leader in its field. I later worked as a tutor for them helping to train the next generation of Therapists at their Brighton venue.

I am passionate about all things health and fitness-related. I’m a keen runner and completed two Marathons in the Spring of 2018. My main sport however is Beach Volleyball which i’ve been playing for many years now. In May 2019 I was part of the Medical Team and Lead Sports Massage Therapist at the 2020 Olympic qualifying event held in London. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to find out how I can help.

Lee Parnell (LSSM Dip)Sports Massage Therapist & Personal Trainer.
Sports Massage Therapy has evolved! It’s moved beyond just being an uncomfortable “deep tissue” massage. There are many highly effective techniques available to a well-trained Therapist. It’s about listening to the client and their body and working with it, not against it.

My treatments are suitable for virtually anyone, from professional sportsmen and women, the weekend warriors and people that lead more sedentary lives. The particulars of each treatment are specific to you and will focus on areas of your body that need it most. I listen and feel for what your body needs and work with it rather than just following a prescribed routine.

There are so many benefits to getting treatment at any time. You don’t need to have an injury or be in pain to come and see me. Although the reality is that this is when most people book their first treatment with me. Sports Massage is a great form of treatment for soft tissue injuries. It is particularly effective on all types of muscle and joint pain whether it was caused by your sport or is a work-related injury.

With more regular treatments you can enhance your training, reduce recovery time and boost your performance. It will promote flexibility, help prevent injuries, and improve your body awareness.

Sports Massage Therapy is an essential component of any balanced training or fitness regime so why not get in touch to find a plan that will work best with your schedule, level of activity, and budget.

Testimonials

I have been getting treatment from Lee for several years now and every single time he has never failed to deliver. No matter what the problem he has helped me massively. Lee is not only incredibly knowledgeable, he treats everyone personally and with respect. Absolutely top class.
Lee was really knowledgeable in assessing and treating my recent knee injury. He was friendly and reassuring and explained very clearly what he was doing and follow up steps. Highly recommended!
When I started to get pains in my shoulder Lee was my obvious choice. He worked on my posture with massage but also gave me home exercises, stretches and great tips to help. His vast knowledge and clear passion to fixing people makes you feel in the best hand and he truly is as all his clients say "amazing!
I went to see Lee after weeks of suffering with shoulder pain. I felt so much better after just one treatment and had no pain at all after my second treatment. I can’t recommend Lee highly enough!
Receiving treatment from Lee at my Olympic Qualification beach volleyball tournament was perfect as he helped sort out a few sore areas and had me in top condition to go out and compete at a high level! Would definitely recommend as a professional but also a great personality throughout treatment.
What I liked about Lee's treatment was how thorough he was; he not only treated the areas where I was tight, but identified areas where there were imbalances in my body, suggested reasons for them and gave me exercises and tips on how to improve them. I left Lee's session feeling great and having an excellent action plan on how to improve to make sure my body is as robust as possible.
Lee was a personal recommendation for my hamstring injury. I found him very personable. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional at all times and practices a varied range of techniques which he tailors to your needs. I felt very relaxed and confident in his abilities. I had a course of six sessions and went from excruciating pain and limited movement to minimal discomfort and full range of movement once again. I can’t recommend Lee highly enough and I shall certainly be visiting him again for maintenance and any future injuries. Thank you Lee!

My treatments can be effective on all types of muscle and joint pain. Regardless of whether they are sports related or not. If you are in pain or discomfort then please get in touch to see if I can help. alternatively you can find out a bit more by reading my blog about this Read Article.

I’m pregnant, can you still treat me?

Unfortunately not. You will need to find a Therapist who is qualified and insured specifically in Pregnancy Massage.

How is my information used?

You only need to enter your name, email and phone number to make a booking. This information is only ever used to send information regarding your booking. you can see my privacy policy here.

What should I wear?

As you may be quite active during the treatment it’s a good idea to wear something you are comfortable in. For lower body treatments, sports shorts are ideal. For women, a modest rear fastening bra is a good idea. Try to avoid sports bras for any back, neck or shoulder problems as they restrict access to many muscles.

How many sessions will I need?

It really does depend on the individual. Everyone is different and responds to treatment in different ways. Most people report an improvement after just one session, although it usually takes a couple more to make a lasting change. Once we are on top of any pain or discomfort we can discuss a maintenance plan to make sure it doesn’t return.

How long is an appointment?

Your first appointment and most follow ups will be 45 minutes. Shorter appointments may be available based on your treatment plan and requirements.

I have private health care, are your treatments covered by this?

It depends on who you are with. You would need to check with your provider whether they will cover Sports Massage delivered by a Level 5 practitioner.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured as both a Therapist and a Personal Trainer.

How much does a treatment cost?

£55 for a 45 minute appointment and I accept cash or card.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

I will go through a medical questionnaire with you to make sure it is appropriate to treat you. If you have any specific injuries I will ask some more detailed questions to ensure you receive the best possible treatment and aftercare advice. I will carry out a postural assessment so the treatment can be tailored to your individual needs.
